Your role

As a web software engineer you will take part in the research and development of a large software project for network intrusion detection. You will work in a team to develop new software components with high reliability and performance requirements.

With your technical expertise you manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables. You design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build web applications, including front-end (user interfaces) and back-end
• Design, develop, test and deploy in agile ways
• Identify and address inefficiency
• Mentor, coach and train junior team members

Required skills

• You are a motivated proactive team player, while at the same time, you work independently and manage your own deadlines
• You have excellent knowledge and solid practical experience of HTML/XHTML, CSS and JavaScript (at least 2 years)
• You have very good knowledge and applicable practical experience of Java EE frameworks for developing web applications
• You possess very good communication skills
• You are fluent in written and spoken English

Desired skills

You have knowledge of the Apache Wicket framework, network security and monitoring, and/or network defence.
